Over a decade ago a group of energetic business identities in the City, got together to form this association, largely modelled on a successful formula adopted by the traders of the Queen Street Mall - Brisbane for many years.

WHAT IS THE ASSOCIATION AND WHAT WILL IT DO?
The CCHBA has been formed to co-ordinate a mix of private, community and cultural stakeholders in City Centre with the objective of promoting Canberra’s CBD.
The key objectives of the CCHBA are to:
- Establish strategic alliances with ACT Government, Canberra Tourism, Property Council, Police, Group and Festival organisers (National Multicultural Festival, Floriade etc)
- Conduct innovative and unique events to maintain and improve City visits by Canberrans and tourists
- Support City traders and stakeholders to ensure maximum coordination of promotions
- Improve public perception of the City Centre with positive public relations and marketing.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN ?
CCHBA is about benefiting its members by:
- Improving the public perception of the City Centre
- Improving the market share of business for City stakeholders
- Improving business values for traders by enhancing goodwill
- Specific marketing of the City Centre as a shopping, leisure and cultural destination
- Improving profile of cultural and community events
